Information Design Farmers Market Tote Bags

A fourth year information design assignment. We were to research and source data on employment in a particular work industry in Christchurch, New Zealand. I chose to focus on food services, narrowing it down to farmers markets. By the time I had gathered enough data from people via email I had only a few days to design and print! We had to develop a narrative on our topic through the use of information design, and design it in a form that was relevant/linked to our chosen industry. I designed a set of three tote bags, each one focusing on the benefits of farmers markets. One focuses on community, another on the environment, and lastly the local economy. The tote bags would be available at farmers markets for market goers to pack full of fresh produce. This project was designed in 2014.
